An artical i made about chain mail around new year 2007 on chain mail.

Title says it all, and here is the article that got ignored by many many people:
I decided to post this as one or two friends have being presured by such things lately and i'm Sure they may not be the only ones.
Now don't get me wrong, im not having a go at people who do chain mail Necessarily, but rather, i am trying to help people who are afraid to just ignore it because "If you do not repost this you will be killed by a madman with a knife tommorow" or whatever the "curse" is.
In some cases its the Reward that drives people.
for example: aproximatly 15 hours ago i recieved this: "if you send this to 20 people your true love will kiss you in one hour" which for me is particularly unlikely being an Insomniac doing what Insomniacs do, yes it was midnight, i was in my house, unlikely she [or even more unlikely: he] would just happen to know where i live and decide to pop 'round in the middle of the night.
god knows how many times i was disapointed by things like this, only to agravate people in my contact list [that was a long time ago fortunatly].
Also tell me this:
Am i immune to such curses? Do i imeadiatly re-incarnate on the spot with no memory of what has just happened? are the hundreds of deaths by things as such just not made public every day?
Or then again, these "curses" in chain mails may not be real, it would seem likely, hundreds, more like: thousands of people ignore chain mails that claim if you don't repost you will die by . How come it's never on the news or in the papers? Some chain letters even claim "people have died because they have not re-posted this" which is pure BS, if you look it up you probably won't find any genuine stories of peoples deaths with cause of death: chain mail. If it was Realy an Obviously big risk, why don't we see any cases of deaths from such? If it was truely a risk, wouldn't the goverment(s) Do somthing about it.
I'd also like to ask of everyone who has sent me chain mail: where are all those people who Suposedly would kill me for not reposting your letter? where are those maniacs with knifes? or the grim reaper - hes two days late so far. And way over 200 people in toatal are still out for my blood.
A realy bad excuse chain mail uses, which frankly is considered by many as Disgusting and Imoral, is the kind which makes non-reposters seem Disgusting and Imoral themselves:
These chain mails claim to be charitable, an example of this would be [this example is more rough and inacurate, and only along the lines of such said in that mail, however it has the features of This type of chain mail and probably is extremely simular to other chain mails of this type elsewhere] "A young boy/girl is going to die, unless they get treatmeant which their parents can't aford, there fore A.O.L [or whatever large company] has sent this chainmail and is tracking it and donating a certain amount of money to the parents for every time its reposted."
So far, all chain mail like this has benn proved as fake, If AOl realy did this, wouldnt it make a news story maybe? they would at least put a page on the internet themselves about it.
Why Wouldn't Aol just donate the money rather than letting the child die because not enough people have reposted their chain mail. Not to mention the difficulty involved with tracking mail.
Lets not forget that these companys would never send out such spam [in most cases].
If you do post such messages, at least give us a link to the site/webpage/news story/whatever about the story [and yes, if a large company did do somthing like that they would publicise it on a webpage]
So overall if you receive chainmail, go ahead and send it to other people who don't mind chain mail if you want, However remember you don't have to and that the reward/curse is probably not true.
